At the Nurse Next Door annual conference last week, the theme was inspired by Atul Gawande's book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End and his key principles of Purpose, Choice, Respect, Belonging and Autonomy.“In his book, Atul quotes his friend Felix, who stated that "old age is a series of consecutive losses." For Nurse Next Door, this inspired the question: how can we enrich the lives of our clients while helping them get back to doing the things they love? By incorporating Happier Aging in our everyday care philosophy — that's how!Mortality is a reality in the home care industry. Whether that is with our clients, business or personal lives — it is forever prevalent. By embracing this, we can work to make every day the best it can for not only our clients, but our Caregivers and communities as well. By refocusing on what really matters and driving results together, we can live our unique purpose of Making Lives Better across the globe. #community #nursenextdoor #homecare #annualconference

Spot-on, Carol. Sounds like the theme and content of the conference will significantly improve the quality of life for those you touch, both directly and indirectly.

Do you know a healthcare worker who is tired of the pace of working in a long term care home?Tell them about working for Nurse Next Door Homecare! 💐DREAM JOBS are available in family-funded homecare 🏠💕🏠💕🏠💕Instead of rushing around each shift to care for 16 (or more!) patients, our staff visit 1 to 3 clients in a workday, in 2 cities right near where they live, and they have time to really care for them and get to know them. Clients are less complex and injury rates are lower. Apply now! 💝💝💝
